URG was founded in 2006 with the core belief that the renaissance of cities and the creation of place in suburbs represented a fundamental shift in the American landscape. This shift opened unique opportunities to shape the built environment with an emphasis on placemaking. Our deep market knowledge and keen understanding of these trends allowed us to acquire, lease, develop and manage properties in a way that better serves our communities.
As a nose-to-the-grindstone start-up, we were honored to team with the renowned Joshua Green Corporation (JGC) to reinvent their 100-year old building headquarters. The project won NAIOP’s Historic Renovation of the Year and inspired JGC to make a significant investment in our company. Another growth milestone came with our acquisition of the real estate development firm Touchstone, known for their innovative urban development. Adding that experience to our roster allows us to take on even more complex projects.
Check out the timeline below for more of our story. And know that we’ll continue to add chapters in the service of our partners, neighbors, and communities.
