As Managing Director at Urban Renaissance Group (URG), Tom is responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s Portland office. As one of the company’s original partners, he has been instrumental in growing and maintaining URG’s Portland portfolio which is currently at 1.5 million square feet.

Following the Great Recession, Tom and his team led the repositioning of under-performing Class B buildings in Portland, helping to create a new “Historic Class A” office product that emerged as one of the most active and desirable market segments in Portland’s Central Business District during the last cycle.

Prior to joining the company in 2006, Tom worked in the aerospace industry. In 1984, he began his career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he was responsible for the marketing and sales of high-power electrical systems to aircraft manufacturers around the world. In 1994, he moved to Portland and joined Flight Dynamics (now Collins Aerospace) where he led the marketing and sales efforts for their Head-Up Guidance Systems for commercial aircraft.

With a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton, Tom also holds a real estate license through the State of Oregon Real Estate Agency. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He has served on various volunteer boards and committees including Portland Mall Management, Inc., Prosper Portland’s Strategic Planning Committee and the Interstate Corridor Urban Renewal Advisory Committee.
