John Bliss is the former Chief Investment Officer of Urban Renaissance Group (URG), where he oversaw the company’s investment and development activities and managed relationships with institutional and private investment partners. During his tenure, John was instrumental in integrating the URG team and capital partners early in the investment decision-making process.

Before joining URG, John served as Chief Investment Officer for Metzler North America, where he led North American investment activities and was a member of the management team and investment committee. Prior to that, he was a Principal and Senior Vice President at Unico Properties in Seattle, sharing responsibility for the firm’s investment activities. Over the course of his career, John has overseen more than $2 billion in direct real estate investment transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, property-level debt financing, asset recapitalizations, and dispositions.

John has served on the executive committees of the advisory boards for the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington and Bellwether Housing in Seattle. He has also been an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
